This is a minimalist version of a Surya Namaskara A (Sun Salutation A). Ashtanga yoga practice starts with Sun Salutations. In this presentation I included the sanskrit counting of movements that is used in a lead series. The open (start inhale) and closed (start exhale) circles are breath marks.

about this project
The idea for this piece came to me while doodling in a lunch talk.

My first attempts were more or less unconnected and messy approximations. You can even see some toying with Surya Namaskara B as well.

These doodles lead to my first computer based draft, that I was unsatisfied with.

For my final version, I went for more of a flowing feel, that a few people noted seems to draw on Arabic script. I created a version with more breath marks on held down dog pose, but I've since removed them (included in the download at the bottom).
